Marty Sumichrast is the Chairman and CEO of Level Brands Inc, where he is responsible for the management and strategic initiatives of all special purpose and private equity funds of the firm. In addition, Mr. Sumichrast serves as a Trustee and Chairman of the Nominating and Governance Committee of the Babson Capital Growth – Short Duration High Yield Fund, Inc. (NYSE: BGH) and the Babson Capital Funds Trust, Inc. Marty Sumichrast also serves as Managing Director of Washington Capital, LLC, and is an executive director of the Jadeveon Clowney Help-In-Time Foundation, a not-for-profit charity helping children of incarcerated parents.
Marty has been a successful entrepreneur for most of his business career. In the early nineties, Martin Sumichrast co-founded the Czech Fund which raised money to invest in the privatization process in the new Czech Republic. The Czech Fund, which later became Czech Industries, purchased the hotel Fortuna in Prague which became the first hotel to be flagged under the brand Quality Hotel (Choice Hotels International, Inc.,) in all of Eastern Europe. Marty helped transform the Czech Fund into an international brokerage operation where he expanded to provide services in financing, financial services, and merchant banking activities.
